AUSTRALIA. The Valiram Group, one of Asia Pacific’s leading luxury goods retailers, is set to open a Coach store at Sydney Airport’s International Terminal (T1) in October.
The Valiram Group was profiled in the January/February 2008 issue of The Moodie Report Digital Print Edition |
Valiram Group Director Ashvin Valiram said: “The Valiram Group has been quietly searching for the right opportunity to launch our next store in Australia. Sydney Airport was the obvious choice given not only its status as the gateway to Australia but also the vision it is bringing to fruition with the enormous re-development of the International Terminal.
“It also re-affirms our commitment to creating and developing cutting edge travel retail concepts across Airports in the region. We are extremely excited about opening our next boutique in T1 this year, just in time to launch our new Autumn collection.”
Sydney Airport Corporation Limited General Manager, Retail Derek Larsen said: “Sydney’s International Airport is currently undergoing an exhaustive re-development that upon completion will ensure Sydney retains its place as one of the world’s leading airports.
“Coach will join other international brands including Emporio Armani and Burberry and will be based in the new retail precinct – “˜The Forum’.”
The re-development and expansion of T1 will see Australia’s largest airport equipped to service over 32 million domestic and international passengers annually. Passenger numbers are expected to grow to more than 79 million a year over the next two decades.
The Valiram Group is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and employs over 800 people globally. Together with strong domestic market operations it has well-respected airport stores in Malaysia and Singapore.
