Zurich Airport commercial sales hit new heights but lag passenger growth in 2025

SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport retail and dining turnover reached CHF635.8 million (US$795.8 million) in 2025, up by +0.9% year-on-year.

Airside sales climbed +3.9% but landside sales fell -3.1% across the 12 months compared to a year earlier.

The commercial increase was outpaced by passenger traffic growth of +4.5% year-on-year to 32.6 million.

Airside spend per departing passenger in the period fell -0.5% year-on-year to CHF23 (US$28.79).

In December alone, commercial turnover grew by +4.1% to CHF57.4 million (US$71.8 million) while average spend climbed an encouraging +3.6% year-on-year in the month to CHF26 (US$32.55).

The commercial numbers lagged healthy passenger traffic growth of +7.3% in the month, with volumes reaching 2.54 million.
