Airmall adds a touch of Oomf to smartphone charging at Boston Logan

USA. Airmall at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) has partnered with Oomf, a new company specialising in on-demand smartphone charging, to provide travellers with a convenient way to charge mobile devices for free.

Portable Oompf (an acronym for ‘One of My Friends/Followers’ – a phrase used on social media) chargers are available in 14 restaurants and bars in BOS Terminals B and E, and at two Be Relax spas in Terminal B.

Airmall Boston aims to offer an easy solution to problems of mobile charging at airports

Airmall Boston Vice President Michael Caro said: “We are always seeking new ways to enhance the travelling experience. Offering complimentary Oomf portable chargers gives our passengers peace of mind and greater flexibility with ready access to wireless power. Activation is easy, and once they’re plugged in they can go anywhere, even enjoy a great meal or spa treatment.”

Travellers can request an Oomf portable charger from any of the 16 BOS PowerHouses. A visit to Oomf.it activates the free charge and displays an interactive airport map with shopping and dining options. Passengers can keep the Oomf charger for up to 24 hours, and return it to its PowerHouse to avoid any charges.

Oomf Co-Founder and CEO James Riel commented: “Connecting with an industry that is fundamentally linked to mobility and innovation was instinctive for us. We are excited to provide Boston’s adventurers and globetrotting professionals with a reliable, mobile charging solution.”
