Riga Airport confirms €1 billion tender winners as WHSmith and Primeclass join Avolta in new-era line-up
The airport company has announced the winners covering four key passenger-facing commercial categories in its landmark tender, ahead of a major overhaul of the Latvian travel hub’s retail and hospitality offer.

The opportunity covers three units, including a 783sq m space at Departures Check-In Hall on Level 8; 116sq m at Departures T1 Satellite Concourse on Level 5; and 163sq m at Arrivals Pre-Immigration Hall at Level 5.
The concession covers two units located in the departures areas, including a 16sq m space at the Satellite Concourse on Level 5, and an 80sq m space at the Northwest Concourse on Level 6.
The agreement will see the Avolta-owned travel restaurateur redevelop more than 4,200sq ft of existing concessions space and add nearly 2,000sq ft of new space across concourses A and B.
The concession includes eight shops and 22 food & beverage outlets, establishing a long-term platform for Avolta in the Baltic region.
The contract covers nine new retail and food & beverage outlets, including four hybrid concepts, and will extend the leading travel retail company’s stay at the airport to over 40 years.
The wide-ranging Request for Tender relates to multiple sites within both the international and domestic terminals, offering more than 2,500sq m of space for duty free, other retail and food & beverage opportunities.
