Zayed International Airport opens airside stores and restaurants to non-travellers to boost business
The initial eight-week programme is likely to provide welcome additional business for commercial operators hard hit by the impact of the Middle East conflict on departing passenger numbers.

Gensler’s appointment will see it support MAG’s airports portfolio, including Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport, and continue its work at London Stansted, as the airport company continues to evolve its commercial offer.
Airside sales climbed by +8% with landside sales slipping -2% compared to Q1 2025.

The tender spans around 23 kiosks/convenience stores and one self-service solution, aimed at delivering fast, accessible and efficient retail services across the major airports in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger.

Highlights of the private terminal include a deluxe lounge, bar, private suites and bespoke dining, alongside a premium event space designed for larger entourages and private gatherings.

A highlight of the new space is the first walkthrough duty-free store at Munich Airport, managed by Eurotrade, with retail complemented by an extensive F&B lineup managed by sister company Allresto.
