AUSTRALIA. Danish sustainable men’s grooming brand 99ML by Horstmann has increased its Asia Pacific travel retail footprint by securing a listing at Sydney Airport with Heinemann Australia.
The listing builds on an initial foray into the region earlier this year with Avolta at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, India.
The 99ML by Horstmann branded area is located in the Domestic Terminal 2 at Sydney Airport, offering travellers seven brand sets featuring different combinations of 13 individual 99ML men’s grooming products. The products, which display the Horstmann Family Coat of Arms from the year 1350, are also available with Heinemann as standalone items.

As the brand name suggests, all individual products in the sets are 99ml by volume. This makes them airport-security compliant as they are all under the ‘maximum 100ml for liquids’ rule. The compact kits are travel-friendly and each product is vegan (certified by The Vegan Society), organic and packaged in recyclable materials.
Examples of the sets available with Heinemann include the Vital Travel Kit, containing premium quality Eau de Toilette, Facial Serum and Deodorant; and the Beard Grooming Travel Set, featuring Eau de Toilette, Beard Shampoo and Beard Polish.
99ML by Horstmann is made in Italy and its manufacturing process is carried out in the Vicenza-Padua-Venice area, a region known for producing premium cosmetics.
99ML by Horstmann CEO Johan Horstmann said: “It is a privilege to be working with Heinemann in one of the world’s most exciting airports at Sydney, where passenger traffic is currently rising rapidly as Australia reasserts itself as one of the key global travel retail markets. Early feedback from Heinemann is very positive for the products in their first few weeks on sale in Heinemann Duty Free.”
Horstmann’s emerging brand is positioned to take advantage of the rising demand for men’s grooming products. Horstmann added: “We are the world’s only brand that caters solely to airline passengers. The 100ml rule for airport security is a de facto standard in the world now and with 99ML by Horstmann products in their hand luggage, male travellers are assured to have what they need for their trip, be it business or pleasure.

“With consumers demanding brands which put sustainability at the forefront, not least in travel retail, our products hit the mark with their vegan, organic and recyclable nature. We offer a premium look, attractive pricing and high-quality scents and ingredients for the products – the quality is underlined by our brand now being listed with two of the world’s great travel retailers, Heinemann and Avolta.
“This is a very exciting time for our brand and I look forward to announcing more new business in airport retail in the coming months.” ✈
