FASHION: Patrick Thomas rejoins Hermès as managing director

FRANCE. French luxury goods house Hermès International has announced that managing director Fabrice Boe is leaving and will be replaced by Patrick Thomas. Thomas was previously managing director at the company from 1989 to 1997, under current chairman Jean-Louis Dumas.

“I welcome the return of an old friend who will contribute to the realisation of the long-term objectives specific to the strategy of our firm,” commented Dumas in a statement.

Hermès declined to comment on why Boe – who formerly headed up Lancôme – was leaving the house after little more than a year in the role.

Thomas left Hermès in 1997 to join the Lancaster Group as president and executive vice-president. After three years there he moved to William Grant & Sons, where he was formerly chief executive.
