The ultra-light Minox DC 6211 compact digital camera offers a 6.2 megapixel resolution which results in more exaggerated colour contrast |
GERMANY. The latest compact digital camera model from Minox, the DC 6211, offers a 6.2 megapixel resolution which results in more exaggerated colour contrast.
Minus the battery and the memory card, the DC 6211 weighs just 130g. At 88.8mm x 54.5mm x 24mm, it is claimed to be one of the lightest purse cameras available.
The camera enables photos to be captured using a 3x optical zoom, and doubles as a video recorder which can capture 30-second moving images at 640 x 480 pixels.
Photos are captured in jpeg format in 24-bit RGB (red grey blue). The video is formatted in avi format. Other information is coded in dcf and dpof for easy photo labelling, identification and printing.
The lens is an auto-focus Minoctar. The DC 6211 shoots in three modes: automatic (macro tele), portrait (macro wide angle) and landscape (wide angle tele).
The ISO settings on offer, 50,100 and 200, and also in automatic mode of 50 to 200, make this model suitable for taking holiday snaps, ideally in sunny conditions.
The user can shoot in various lighting conditions using the white balance settings of auto/manual, pre-selection: daylight, cloudy, sunset, fluorescent and incandescent lamp.
The images can be downloaded to PC using the DC-port, the USB-1.1-port and the audio/video (AV)-output (NTSC or PAL).
Other accessories include a rechargeable battery, a soft pouch, a wrist cord and a USB power adapter.
