CANADA. The new Plaza Premium Lounge at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) promises to give Domestic Terminal passengers “a first-class lounge experience” for a C$25 pay-per-use entrance fee.
The lounge is located post-security at the junction between A and B piers, offering views of the runway, comfortable seating, refreshments and business services. It is open to all domestic passengers, regardless of airline, travel class or membership programmes.
Owned and operated by Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited, Plaza Premium Lounge is already available to passengers travelling to international destinations out of YVR.
Said Vancouver Airport Authority Retail Sales and Services Manager Christopher Gilliland: “For several years our international travellers have been enjoying the existing Plaza Premium Lounge in the International Terminal, and we’re pleased to now extend this premium lounge experience to our domestic travellers.
“This popular service is yet another way that we strive to offer our customers an enjoyable travelling experience at YVR.”
The 600sq m area has seating for 100, computers equipped with Internet access, and full Wi-Fi capability throughout.
Cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the entrance fee, as well as light snacks and espresso beverages; and wine, spirits and draught beer are available for purchase. Passengers can also take advantage of the latest newspapers and magazines, television entertainment and carry-on baggage storage.
The lounge is open daily from 6:00am to 11:30pm and has ten staff.
Situated immediately post-security, the existing International Terminal Plaza Premium Lounge offers refreshments, business services and sleeping areas for a C$30 entrance fee. Discounted rates and annual memberships are available to frequent travellers for both lounges.
