FRANCE. French beauty house Clarins is to introduce into travel retail an advanced anti-ageing skincare product called Double Serum Generation 6.
The new-generation line targets women aged over 40 and was conceived as a result of changes in the environment, consumers’ attitudes towards cosmetics and their expectations in terms of beauty, according to the company.
Generation 6 has six functions – hydration, nutrition, oxygenation, protection, revitalisation and energy – all designed to prolong the skin’s youthfulness.
The key ingredient used for hydration is salicornia, which stimulates the production of desmosomes, spot-like proteins which link cells together. Generation 6 helps restore the skin’s barrier and prevent moisture loss.
Inca peanut and Marula provide nutrition, as they are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids.
Designed to breathe life into skin cells are London rocket seed and Pycnogenol from maritime pine bark. They boost blood microcirculation which has slowed due to stress, and stimulate skin cells’ capacity to assimilate oxygen, to ensure a radiant complexion.
Along with Stimulen, Clarins’ exclusive complex which maintains the functions of Langerhans cells, Generation 6 also provides triple protection against free radicals, metalloproteinases and glycation with Pycnogenol from maritime pine bark.
London rocket seed and unsaponifiables of avocado and Centella Asiatica are used to activate the turnover of fibroblasts, which play a major role in skin firmness.
Generation 6 is launched in travel retail stores in September 2007.
