Lacoste inks global eyewear deal with Charmant – 04/10/07

FRANCE. French fashion house Lacoste has entered into a long-term worldwide eyewear licensing agreement with the Charmant Group for the design, production and distribution of optical and sunglasses collections. The agreement starts on 1 January, 2008.

Charmant Group has already been the Lacoste eyewear license partner for Asia and South America since January 2006 and for North America and Mexico since July 2006.

L’Amy Group was the former licensee in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The new eyewear collection will embrace the Lacoste lifestyle which encompasses elegance, refinement and comfort as well as a dedication to quality and innovation, the French fashion house said.

The collection will feature stylish eyewear with a contemporary sport-elegant feel, it added.

In separate news, the René Lacoste Foundation has announced it is supporting the Andy Roddick Youth Tennis Program in San Antonio, Texas. The scheme was set up by the top American tennis player to aid children with financial needs.
