The Gala Dinner venue, The Shanghai Science & Technology Musuem, is both an architectural and education marvel |
CHINA. The spectacular Shanghai Science & Technology Museum has been chosen as the venue for the Gala Dinner at the ACI Airport Business & Trinity Forum to be held on 31 March-2 April. And in related breaking news, Lagardère Services has become a Platinum Sponsor of the event.
Lagardère, which owns French retailer Aelia and acclaimed news-to gifts-to speciality retailer HDS, is one of the most powerful and ambitious forces in the broader travel retail industry (more details soon).
The ACI Airport Business & Trinity Forum, popularly known as The Trinity Forum, is a joint venture between Airports Council International and The Moodie Report. It will be hosted by Shanghai Airport Authority.
The Trinity Forum has caused great excitement in Shanghai, especially as it is being linked to another glamour ACI event – the important ‘ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) and Facilitation Conference’ (31 March & 1 April).
The latter’s ASQ Awards – the most prestigious awards in the airport industry – will be held during a joint conference Gala Dinner on 1 April. This will ensure very strong participation by the world’s leading airports at both events. The elegant Pudong Shangri-La Hotel is the joint venue.
A powerful programme is being put together that brings together a line-up of worldwide industry leaders with leading representatives from the Chinese travel retail community.
The Opening Cocktail will be held at the prestigious Bund 18, a leading nightspot on the famous The Bund (embankment) area of Shanghai on the banks of the Huang Pu River.
Earlier today King Power Group (Hong Kong) confirmed it will be one of a “˜Trinity’ of Opening Cocktail sponsors. Other leading sponsors will be named in coming days.

Ivo Favotto, Executive Vice President Business Development & Strategy at The Nuance Group, will give what he promises will be a landmark speech on new concepts for airports – more details in coming weeks.
