L’Oréal’s Jean-Michel Bostroem is set to retire from the group after 20 years in travel retail |
FRANCE. The travel retail channel is set to lose one of its longest-serving executives, as L’Oréal Produits de Luxe International Travel Retail Worldwide International Marketing Director Jean-Michel Bostroem prepares to retire from the group later this summer.
Bostroem, one of the beauty sector’s most knowledgeable, respected and likeable individuals, has been with L’Oréal for more than 30 years; 20 of those have been within the travel retail division.

Jean-Michel is a modest, endearing, occasionally eccentric character who uses the word “˜luck’ frequently to describe his many career achievements. But like all successful people he has made most of that luck himself. |

“I have enjoyed an absolutely fascinating time with L’Oréal,” Bostroem told The Moodie Report. “The company was one of travel retail’s true trailblazers, and I was lucky enough to be involved at the start of the worldwide travel retail organisation that L’Oréal set up.”
He continued: “L’Oréal was a pioneer of so many things: the development of cosmetics, particularly make-up, as a serious product category in this channel, HPP events at airports, and travel retail exclusives.
“I have worked with some amazing people, and learned so much during my time with the group.”
Bostroem’s official retirement will begin at the end of June/July. However, he will finish his current mandate as Vice President Marketing at Tax Free World Association, and will be in Cannes at the TFWA World Exhibition this October.
