US. CMSC Spirits is set to launch its new premium spirits product, Love Potion #9, in New Jersey, followed by a phased roll-out into other markets.
Love Potion #9 is a 60-proof, smooth, no grain alcohol (30% pure sugarcane alcohol) ‘distilled spirits specialty’ that was developed over five years. It features a blend of 20 exotic tropical fruit flavours, including mango, peach, chocolate, vanilla, pear, apple, cherry, and almond.

Sweet, aromatic and mixable, Love Potion #9 can be consumed straight, on the rocks or added to cocktails, the company said. Its flavour may also accentuate fruit juices, mixers, sodas, and other spirits such as vodka, tequila, rum, and even cream liqueurs.
In addition, Love Potion #9 opens up possibilities for dishes prepared in the kitchen, including appetisers, soups, entrees, baked goods, as well as poured over ice cream and other frozen desserts.
“It is so delicately balanced, no one fruit flavour dominates,” said CMSC Spirits President Tina LoBosco. “What makes Love Potion #9 so unique is that it tastes different every time. It’s an unpredictable and exciting spirit that brings out passion and romance when served straight up or added to classic cocktails. It can also be used as the base spirit for countless new and exciting cocktail recipes,” she said.
LoBosco added: “Retailers will find that Love Potion #9 is going to be the de facto Valentine’s Day, wedding, anniversary, engagement, Christmas, and birthday gift in very short order and bartenders will go through it by the case when prominently displayed. Nothing screams “˜impulse buy’ like a spirits product named Love Potion #9.”
The retro-classic bottle design is a blend of “old world apothecary” with a modern flair. The 12-bottle case, emblazoned with the striking Love Potion #9 logo, makes for a perfect POS display, the company said.
A best selling South American spirit product since 1994, Love Potion #9 is also a 2009 World Spirits Competition Gold Medal Award recipient.
