Snus, a Swedish tobacco speciality, gets great space and focus with its own stand-alone ‘Snusidor’ at Stockholm Arlanda |
SWITZERLAND. The Nuance Group’s Tax Free Store at Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s Terminal 5 is currently playing host to a limited-edition Lucky Strike Snus promotion.
Nuance, alongside British American Tobacco (BAT), is presenting a limited-edition Lucky Strike snus exclusively available in the retailer’s store at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Displayed at one of the highest footfall points within the store, Lucky Strike snus is on offer in packs of five, each of which comes wrapped in a neoprene outer layer, underlining the fact that snus should be kept chilled.
Snus currently represents around 50% of The Nuance Group’s total tobacco turnover in Sweden. This led the retailer to create an area entirely dedicated to snus, when designing the store at Arlanda T5. This area features the first ‘Snusidor’, a device to store snus in a refrigerated environment while at the same time displaying it to customers.
The Nuance Group Sweden General Manager Karl Walter explained: “In all of our operations, creating a special Sense of Place is always an objective. Snus is a typical regional product immensely popular in the Nordic countries, and we have given the product a prominent place in our Tax Free Store through the introduction of the Snusidor.
“With this promotion we give the product further weight by offering customers a special edition exclusively available from Nuance.”
BAT Denmark Marketing Manager Nordic Travel Retail Viviana Rusconi added: “We are delighted to see a positive response from both our customers and consumers. This reflects all the hard work done in collaboration with the snus brand team and our partner The Nuance Group.
“The Snusidor initiative is the first of its kind for BAT in travel retail. It further enhances BAT’s ability to cater to consumers across all tobacco categories. Lucky Strike, the oldest tobacco brand in the world, now offers premium products in cigarettes, RYO (roll your own) and snus, proving our commitment to provide consumers with choice.”
