Aelia and Longchamp team up to open Heathrow T1 boutique

UK. Leading French travel retailer Aelia is set to open a Longchamp boutique in the coming days at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 1. The retailer said the move was a significant one, marking its debut with BAA.

The 60sq m unit will offer a range of bags and other small leathergoods from Longchamp, and the brand is seen as a good fit with the passenger profile in the terminal, which houses Star Alliance carriers among others.

Aelia Deputy Director Business Development John Rimmer said: “We’re thrilled and delighted about this project, and we look forward to making our debut at one of the world’s great airports for travel retailing. We see this as a first step in a long-term relationship with BAA, one that builds on our existing UK structure and experience.”

Aelia already has UK travel retail operations at London Luton and Belfast airports. An official opening for the new Heathrow store will take place in April.
