The incentive, held in conjunction with Magners Irish Cider, Stella Artois, Pringles and Alpha Inflight Retail, ran for six months from May to October 2010.
Every cabin crew individual from across 11 UK bases was incentivised to compete for the big prize through driving sales of Magners Irish Cider, Stella Artois, and Pringles. The best selling crew member from each base was selected to attend the awards and the winner was announced on the night.
Wescott commented: “We are delighted for Elaine and the sales uplift confirms that, with the support of everyone involved and the right structure in place, sales incentives can be truly successful.
“We wanted to offer a super prize and the car seemed to have the desired effect. This is definitely something we would like to do again next year, with a view to offering crew the chance to win a mortgage/rent free year.”
Alpha Inflight Retail Buying Manager Chloe Fox added: “Incentives really work in driving sales and especially so in cases like this where the Thomas Cook team certainly got behind it. Everyone’s a winner, the airline, the crew, the brands and the customer.”
