MicroVision’s Gideon reading glasses have telescoping temples that easily fold up into a compact carrying case |
US. US-based distributor Go Snacks Inc, which was recently appointed the worldwide duty free agent for a range of Foster Grant eyewear, will introduce products from the best-selling brand at the 2011 IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas this month.
The company is introducing three different lines from US manufacturer FGX International Inc to duty free retailers, including the inflight market.
LightSpecs Lighted Reading Glasses: LightSpecs Lighted Reading Glasses aim to provide the solution to two problems in one product: magnification for nearby tasks and light where more is required, including reading inflight, outdoors and working in dimly‐lit areas. Powerful LED lighting is built into the frames. The patented design was developed to focus light where you need it, and the replaceable batteries last over 50 hours. The US domestic retail price is US$24.99.
MicroVision Optical: MicroVision’s new Gideon reading glasses are described as convenient, mini‐compact reading glasses with telescoping temples that easily fold up into carrying case for compact storage. Spring hinges are used for added comfort. The product retails at US$24.99 in the US domestic market.
Foster Grant Computer Readers: The amber lens colour in the new Foster Grant Computer Readers is designed to filter out blue light, lessening the strain on your eyes and making it easier to read what is on the computer screen. In addition, an anti-reflective coating provides an extra layer of protection from fluorescent lighting and glare.
Foster Grant eyewear is already sold in leading duty free outlets including Dufry-owned Hudson Group and The Paradies Shops.
A high-profile media advertising campaign for Foster Grant is planned this year in the US market.
In addition to Foster Grant brand, visitors to the Go Snacks booth at IAADFS will be able to see a range of high-end reading glasses for women from the Corinne McCormack brand, also owned by FGX International Inc.
Corinne McCormack reading glasses are sold in high-end department stores, such as Bloomingdale’s and Lord & Taylor.
