SWITZERLAND. The Piz Buin suncare brand, handled in travel retail by Ralph Brandt’s Premium Brands Trading, is tapping into a new niche in the sun protection market by offering a solution to consumers with skin sensitive to UVA radiation (technically called photodermatosis).

“The Piz Buin Allergy sub-line will contribute significantly to our total sun protection sales,” noted Ralph Brandt |
According to the brand, Piz Buin Allergy Lotion still allows users to tan, while blocking out up to 95% of UVA radiation, thereby preventing any allergic reactions.
“The Piz Buin Allergy sub-line will contribute significantly to our total sun protection sales, both in domestic and travel retail sales channels,” Travel Retail Sales Director Brandt told The Moodie Report. “It also helps to reinforce Piz Buin’s image as the sun care specialist from Switzerland spearheading with true innovations in the field of sun protection and care.”
In other news, last month KLF held its annual Norwegian Cosmetic Awards in Oslo, attended by distributors, suppliers and customers. Piz Buin’s Allergy range was voted the winner in the “Body Care of the Year” category.
The jury said: “The winner has adapted to consumers’ new wishes and needs in the category, and is representing an innovation in its segment. With its [pleasant] consistency and fragrance this product [satisfies] practical expectations, but also answers the consumer demand for products fit for sensitive skin. The winner is expanding the category and is a large sales success.”
