POLAND. Flemingo Group subsidiary Baltona has started a new operation at Poznan Airport, where it has a master concession agreement for commercial activities in Departures.
In May this year Baltona entered an agreement with Poznan Airport to manage 1,900sq m of space, including duty free shops, restaurants and coffee shops and Poland Zoom outlet offering destination goods, news & books.
The company started its operations in July with a 498sq m duty free outlet housing the main core categories, with a wide range of Polish and international brands, regional and local products as well as a children’s section. Also opened then was F&B brand Coffee Corner (in 200sq m), which sells drinks, sandwiches, cakes and pastries, and has Wi-Fi and stations for mobile phones and laptops.
This was followed in August by the launch of a 150sq m fashion outlet and a Poland Zoom unit. The boutique carries watches, jewellery, sunglasses, bags, handbags, luggage and accessories. Poland Zoom features local and regional products, travel accessories, books, newspapers, snacks and drinks.

The company also plans to open a 340sq m Travel Chef restaurant in the Schengen zone, anther duty free shop plus a grab-and-go coffee concept in the non-Schengen area. This will come after the refurbishment of the old wing of the Departures hall.
Baltona CEO Andrzej Uryga said: “The new commercial concept has been designed to create a friendly and attractive environment for travellers, offering high quality products and functional space to make the time spent at the airport the best part of the [journey].”
