Egyptian Airports Company issues duty free tender for Sharm el-Sheikh T1

EGYPT. State airport authority Egyptian Airports Company (EAC) has launched the tender for the duty free operations in Terminal 1 at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport.

Announcing the tender in the local Arabic-language newspaper Al-Gomhuria, EAC said it was taking bids for the occupancy and management of duty free shops (commercial areas) in the travel lounge and arrivals hall in the new facility.

Technical bids will be opened at midday on 13 November at the company’s office, in front of representatives from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Interested parties can obtain the terms of references from EAC for US$1,500 with a sealed and signed official authorisation letter. Bids will be subject to a US$375,000 bond to guarantee works.

Bidders will have to provide proof of previous experience in implementing and managing duty free shops in airports or malls.

Applicants whose technical offers are accepted will be notified with the results of the technical decision and bidding will be undertaken from the highest value of the accepted technical offers.
