To mark the 30th anniversary of Dubai Duty Free, Philip Morris International (PMI) introduced newly designed limited edition Marlboro packaging for the retailer’s operation at Dubai International Airport.

The packaging covered the Marlboro Red variant and another of the brand owner’s best-selling cigarette brands, Marlboro Gold.

Featuring the Dubai Duty Free anniversary logo as a key element, the Marlboro Dubai Duty Free Limited Pack Edition redesign is said to “reflect the mutual support of the long-standing partnership between PMI and DDF,” according to PMI.

With this release, PMI said it has “underlined the importance of limited edition novelty offers for the travel retail section, targeting the growing “˜gifters’ segment of adult smokers who are constantly looking for innovation, exclusivity and something that stands out”.

PMI is the category leader at Dubai Duty Free, mainly driven by the Marlboro family and its wider product propositions.

PMI added: “With Dubai International Airport set to become the world’s largest international hub by 2015, Dubai Duty Free will remain PMI’s key point of business for the foreseeable future.”
