UK. Bristol Airport is seeking expressions of interest ahead of a tender for retail opportunities at its soon to be extended terminal.
Up to seven new units will be created, totalling more than 1,000sq m of floor space, when the £8.6 million project is completed. Retail categories to be tendered include fashion, accessories, jewellery, watches and gifting.
The extension is the first major expansion of the terminal building since it opened in 2000 and follows the opening of a £6.5 million central walkway earlier this year. Planning permission to enhance facilities to handle 10 million passengers a year was granted in February 2011.

Bristol Airport Head of Commercial Development Kate Ridgers said: “With consistently strong performance since 2009 and planning permission in place to enable this growth to continue, Bristol Airport presents an exciting opportunity for retailers. We are now looking to enhance our retail offer by introducing new and exciting brands to the region’s travellers.”
Expressions of interest must be received by 25 September with full tender packs to be issued by 30 September, The airport expects to award contracts in January 2015.
