Mondelez launches new travel retail exclusive Toblerone Crushed Corn

Mondelez World Travel Retail (WTR) has extended its Toblerone range with new travel retail exclusive Toblerone Crushed Corn. It will be introduced to travel retail locations in October following an exclusive pre-launch in Gebr Heinemann’s stores, including Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna and Oslo airports.

Aimed at strengthening Toblerone’s position in the confectionery category, Toblerone Crushed Corn is said to deliver a new taste and texture experience. The 400g bar combines Swiss milk chocolate with almond and honey nougat and pieces of crunchy roasted corn.

Mondelez has developed a colourful in-store advertising campaign to support the launch, and at selected travel retail locations shoppers will have the opportunity to sample Toblerone Crushed Corn before they buy at tasting stations staffed by specially trained hostesses.

Mondelez WTR Category Marketing Manager Nicole Hatt said: “Toblerone Crushed Corn represents the latest exciting development for the Toblerone brand in travel retail, with the potential to stimulate significant sales growth for both Mondelez and also the broader category. We are delighted to give [consumers] their first taste through an exclusive launch with our close partners Heinemann.”
