Frankfurt Airport: Record daily and monthly traffic for May |
GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport passenger traffic climbed by +5.4% year-on-year in May, to 5.6 million, making it the busiest May ever for the German hub.
The airport also exceeded 200,000 passengers per day for the first time in May, first on 17 May (about 202,000 passengers) and again on 22 May (about 208,700 passengers).

Fraport Group airports around the world posted solid growth in May. With 128,411 passengers, Slovenia Airport posted a traffic surge of +19.6% year-on-year. Lima Airport in Peru handled over 1.4 million passengers, up by +9.2%.
Bulgaria’s Twinstar airports of Burgas and Varna, posted a combined -7.4% drop in traffic to 167,984 passengers. Turkey’s Antalya Airport saw traffic decline by -6.6% to about three million passengers. At St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, the number of passengers fell by -4.2% to about 1.2 million passengers.
In northern Germany, Hanover Airport handled 512,048 passengers, representing growth of +7.6% year-on-year. With 2.8 million passengers in May, Xi’an Airport in central China reported growth of +12.8%.
