Award winning wine: the 2010 vintage Brunello di Montalcino |
Bottega’s Tuscan Il Vino dei Poeti Brunello di Montalcino wine has been ranked “˜outstanding’ by British magazine Decanter.
A panel composed of Italian wine experts Michael Garner, Ian D’Agata and Andrea Briccarello tasted 99 different Brunello and deemed only five to be “˜outstanding’. Bottega’s Il Vino dei Poeti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2010 scored 95 points out of 100.
The 2010 harvest is said to have been one of the best in the last twenty years, due to “exceptional” climate conditions, meaning that this vintage is characterised by bolder, rounder and more full-bodied wines.
Il Vino dei Poeti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG has also received positive recommendations from magazines including The Wine Advocate and The Wine Enthusiast.
Over the past 10 years, Bottega has expanded its production by directly managing a winery in Montalcino with the aim of providing consumers with other excellent Italian wines under the same reputed brand. 2014 saw Brunello Bottega commence distribution in the global travel retail channel and in 41 countries, including French Polynesia and the Seychelles.
Bottega said it will soon acquire a winery located in Valgatara (in the province of Verona), to extend and enhance the production of Valpolicella wines.
