Games old and new are enhancing the travel experience in Bangalore

Focus on fun: Playport features magic shows and tattoo artists as well as the chance to play games

INDIA. A play area combining traditional games and the latest digital gadgets is enhancing the travel experience for families at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport.

Bangalore International Airport Limited’s (BIAL) latest customer engagement activity – Playport – has been specifically created for the holiday passengers who pass through the airport in larger numbers at this time of the year.

The Playport concept aims to turn the airport into a playground, allowing children to experience it in a new way. It is based on a theme of ‘Then & Now’ and features a series of activities and visuals that showcase both games of yesteryear and the latest digital gadgets.

Passengers can take part in life-size versions of hopscotch and snakes & ladders or play PSP and Xbox games. Other activities include magic shows, balloon sculpturing, tattoo artists and an upcycled goods workshop. Playport will run until 15 May.

“As an airport, we have constantly endeavoured to give our passengers and visitors an unparalleled travel experience,” said BIAL President, Airport Operations Hari Marar.

“We encourage everyone to come and spend time here and make our airport a destination they can visit during the summer holidays. Through these activities it is our effort to engage with our visitors and make this experience a memorable one.”
