UAE. Dubai Duty Free’s The Irish Village has been named ‘Irish Pub of the Year’ at a prestigious awards ceremony.
The pub is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It beat a number of local and international Irish establishments to win the accolade at the Irish Pubs Global Awards Gala Dinner in Dublin.

The awards ceremony is organised by the Irish Pubs Global Federation and aims to create, connect and support a global community of Irish hospitality owners, managers and their suppliers.
Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Colm McLoughlin said: “We are delighted that The Irish Village has been named ‘Irish Pub of the Year’ in this milestone year. I thank all the judges for their votes and I congratulate the management and staff for their contribution towards this global recognition for The Irish Village.”
As part of The Irish Village’s 20th anniversary celebrations, Sir Bob Geldof will be performing live on 20 October. A special event that day will also include traditional Irish dancing and a performance by Dubai-based band The MapleJacks.
