‘An oasis of rest and relaxation’: Frankfurt Airport inaugurates second VIP lounge

GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport has officially inaugurated its second VIP lounge.

The 300sq m lounge is located in Transit B, and was built in response to a “burgeoning demand” for VIP services, according to airport operator Fraport.

“Our VIP services only address a relatively small group of affluent clients with an especially great need for privacy. But this group is steadily growing, along with what its members expect from an airport,” said Fraport Executive Director of Operations Anke Giesen.

“Thanks to the new lounge, we’re now excellently prepared to meet these expectations – and word is definitely going to get around fast.”

The lounge was constructed in two years with investment of “a sum in the lower eight-digit Euro range”, Fraport said.

Facilities include eight luxury suites with marble bathrooms and a direct view of the apron, a bar, a cigar lounge, a gaming lounge equipped with consoles, a pinball machine and table soccer, and a conference room.

A selection of international dishes and snacks can be ordered and the airport said it was able to meet “unusual requests”. A fleet of luxury vehicles (including a Bentley Mulsanne) transports guests around the airport and gates.

Bill Kaulitz, the lead singer of pop-rock band Tokio Hotel, regularly uses the airport’s VIP services. “Especially when we go on international trips, Frankfurt Airport is our first choice, mainly because of the VIP lounge,” he said. “The team always makes everything totally relaxed and easy for us. Travelling couldn’t be any nicer than this.”
