USA. HMSHost has opened a new open concourse dining area at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, featuring Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi and a Starbucks. The expanded area in Terminal 1 Concourse C has more than 200 seats.
This is the second Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi installation at O’Hare. The first, in Terminal 2, opened in 2010 and, among other accolades, has been named as one of USA Today’s Top 10 Best Airport Sit Down Dining concepts.
Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi offers specialty rolls, traditional miso soup, and a variety of choices from Nigiri and Sashimi to Asian-inspired salads. Its bar serves sake, and a selection of wine, beer and speciality cocktails.
Bowa Construction – the first African American-owned prime concessions construction contractor – led the three-month construction of the new project, which was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on 15 August.
Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee said: “We are thrilled to welcome the second installation of our award-winning Wicker Park Seafood & Sushi and to enhance food offerings for O’Hare this summer.
“These upscale new locations at Terminal 1 will enhance the customer experience for millions of passengers from all around the world.
“I want to thank our partners at HMSHost, Bowa Construction, and United Airlines for working with us to deliver the high quality dining experience that travellers can count on when they come to O’Hare.”
Other HMSHost outlets at O’Hare include Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless, Publican Tavern, Summer House Santa Monica by Lettuce Entertain You, and Stefani’s Tuscany Café.
