JAPAN. Lotte Duty Free is set to open a Loewe boutique at Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 on Thursday 7 January. It marks a debut for the Spanish luxury brand at the location.
The store will offer a range of the brand’s signature handbags and accessories. Loewe replaces a Zegna boutique (managed by Asahi Airport Service) in the central T1 location.
Kansai Airports said it “will continue to welcome attractive brands into its store line-up to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for all customers.”

Other recent openings at Kansai T1 include a Saint Laurent store (through a new partnership between Lagardère Travel Retail and Asahi Airport Service) and new KIX Duty Free and Ishiya stores, managed by Kansai Airports Retail & Services.
Separately, as reported, Kansai Airports has revised the schedule for its ambitious renovation of Kansai International T1, and aims to complete most of the project by the time of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025. Some commercial areas in international departures will be finished by Autumn 2026, said the company, having originally been planned for early 2025.
The plans allow for a +60% increase in retail and food & beverage space in international departures, featuring a large walk-through duty free shop.
