USA. Collinson has commenced the operation of COVID-19 testing services at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the first of their kind from the global medical and travel experiences provider in the US airport market.
The facilities offer pre-departure and arrival testing to international and domestic travellers, as well as to airport staff and airline crews.
Expecting to test an average of up to 1,000 passengers a day, Collinson will create 200 jobs to staff the facilities. This could increase depending on demand, the company said.
COVID-19 testing is a requirement for anyone entering the US by air.
Located both pre-security (D22) and post-security (D7), travellers and airport/aviation staff will have access to all federally-approved tests for pre-departure and arrival, including Rapid Antigen, RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, and Rapid Antibody.
Tests can be booked from one hour in advance via the Collinson website, or on-site for walk-ins.
Collinson President of the Americas Sheryl Pflaum said: “We launched our first COVID-19 airport testing facility in the UK last summer and have since tested hundreds of thousands of global passengers. It’s been the most successful way of keeping everyone safe during the pandemic, while keeping the travel ecosystem moving.
“The new facilities at DFW Airport are in response to demand from passengers for airport testing facilities around the world as we start to emerge from various lockdowns. After receiving a negative COVID-19 test result, travellers will be provided with a digital certificate they can show to relevant parties in order to meet travel requirements.”
She added: “We’re working with airports, airlines and local authorities to give travellers convenient, cost-effective options for taking any of the various pre-departure tests required by different governments around the world, and we’re thrilled to be offering our services at one of the US’s busiest hub airports.”
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Executive Vice President Revenue Management & Customer Experience Ken Buchanan said: “As more and more travellers return to airports, we know how important quick and reliable testing will be for many of our customers.
“That’s why we’re teaming with Collinson to open these new facilities. We want to make passenger journeys as seamless and convenient as possible, and that includes how easily they can take and get the results of their tests.
“Collinson guarantees all tests are conducted under the supervision of a medical professional for the most safe and accurate results.”
