HTDF and Gucci Beauty celebrate first flagship store in Hainan

CHINA. Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co (HTDF) and Gucci Beauty yesterday (10 July) celebrated the formal launch of the beauty house’s first flagship store in Hainan.

The store is located on the third floor of HTDF’s Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex (海旅免税城) in downtown Sanya.

Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co Chairman and General Manager Xie Zhiyong, and Coty Sales & Digital Senior Director, Travel Retail Asia Pacific Tracy Chen, together with other business leaders attended the celebrations.

They were joined by nine leading influencers, including internet star @原是西门大姐 and celebrity make-up artist Yuan Dashuai (@袁大帅) who created a celebrity makeup look for fans on the spot.

The store design, which conveys the House’s eclectic codes, is conceived to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Described as “elegant yet playful”, the store’s black oak flooring contrasts with its hand-painted pale pink furniture and bevelled mirrored surfaces.

Exclusive upholstered armchairs offer visitors a seat in front of one of two vanity-style dressers, each featuring a mirror jewelled with lights.

The store, opened on 28 April, also offers an omnichannel customer experience, by integrating for the first time touchpoints such as an interactive table with educational product content and a mega interactive screen where clients can delve into the world of Gucci fragrances.

Consumers can explore the world of Gucci Beauty in this soft and refined environment. Note The Alchemist’s Garden collection – Gucci’s luxury perfume line – on the back wall.

QR codes placed around the store and accessible via the interactive table add further to the unique omnichannel experience for clients, who can access one-of-a-kind Gucci games and apps.

The boutique environment invites clients to explore beauty in a contemporary way, featuring not only Gucci fragrances but also the acclaimed Gucci makeup collection, which is ideated under a manifesto of beauty written by Creative Director Alessandro Michele.

Clients can discover their perfect lipstick with Gucci Beauty’s different lipstick formulas at the lip bar or additionally, they can get a personalised look by a Gucci Beauty advisor at the makeup stations.

The Alchemist’s Garden collection – Gucci’s luxury perfume line – enjoys a special back-wall display. Here, customers can explore the series of nine eaux de parfums, four perfumed oils and three acque profumate, and immerse themselves in this unique fragrance story.
