LATIN AMERICA. Leading travel retailer and services company London Supply Group today celebrated its 80th anniversary. It released a special highlights video to mark the occasion (below).
President Teddy Taratuty said in a statement: “Today is a very special day for all of us at London Supply Group. 80 years ago, Don José ‘Pepe’ Taratuty ventured to take the first steps to build the enterprise that would later become the business group we all know. With the legacy of his clear vision, his resolute determination and the distinctive values of a family company, we continued to grow and shape that which Pepe once dared to dream.
“Today, 80 years of history later, we are more confident than ever that a company’s most important capital is the ability to dream. On behalf of all of us who are part of this big family, thank you for continuing to help us reach our dreams.”
The company, which began as a supplier to the maritime sector in 1942, has since expanded its activities to include duty free retailing, airport and port operations, free zone operations and wholesale & distribution.
As reported, London Supply recently opened the Rio Gallegos Duty Free Zone, in the province of Santa Cruz, and started activities in the zone’s retail mall under the name Patagonia Shops.
In December the group reopened the Puerto Iguazú Duty Free Shop on the Argentina-Brazil border, after 20 months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

London Supply also has specialist service companies in the domestic markets of Argentina and Uruguay among its 23 business units. Corporate social responsibility is also a core value, with the company giving back many millions of dollars across multiple projects to social causes, notably in its home country of Argentina.
