
TURKEY. Groupe ADP company TAV Airports has named Serkan Kaptan as its new Chief Executive, effective from 1 May. He replaces Sani Sener, who has been in the role since the company’s foundation in 1997. He is retiring but will take on the position of Deputy Chairman.
Kaptan has been involved in business development, strategy and marketing at the company since he joined in 1998.
Burcu Geriş is named as Deputy CEO and will retain her responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer. Deputy CEO since 2017, Franck Mereyde is appointed as Chairman of ComEx and an Executive Board Member.

Sani Şener said: “During the last 25 years, we managed to create a globally acclaimed brand in airport operations. Founded with the Istanbul Airport BOT project, today TAV operates 15 airports in eight countries and it is part of the largest airport management platform globally, Groupe ADP.
“Today we are happy to announce the changes in our management team, part of our meticulously planned succession, which will shape the future of our company. Our Deputy CEO since 2016, Serkan Kaptan, who took over important responsibilities at the company since the beginning, will be appointed as CEO. I’ll continue supporting the strategic orientation of the company in my capacity as the Deputy Chairman of the Board.”
Serkan Kaptan joined TAV Airports Holding in 1998 during the build-operate-transfer project of the Istanbul Atatürk Airport. From 2002 on, he was responsible for business development, airline marketing, R&D and investments. He was appointed as Deputy CEO of TAV Airports in 2016 and served as a Board Member for all TAV Airports’ subsidiaries. Kaptan is also a Member of the ADP Executive Board in charge of Central Asia, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and CIS.
Franck Mereyde joined Groupe ADP in 2005 as Director of Operations at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, fulfilling various roles at ADP airports and later joining the Board of Directors at Aéroports de Paris Management before taking up his senior role with TAV Airports in 2017.
Burcu Geris joined TAV Airports in 2005, leading the Project & Structured Finance Department of the company. She was appointed CFO in 2012 and Vice President in 2014.
