Today’s choices are from Yonhap News Agency in the Republic of Korea. They picture a group of Thai tourists shopping inside Shinsegae Duty Free in Myeong-dong, Seoul yesterday.

As the report notes, this marked the first visit to the store by foreign group tourists in two years amid the sustained pandemic-related border restrictions which have hit the Korean duty free sector hard.

From 1 April, fully vaccinated travellers from all countries could enter the country freely.

New COVID-19 case numbers have been falling fast in recent weeks after hitting a daily peak of 620,000 on 17 March. Cases fell to 107,916 on 15 April as the country prepares to lift major social distancing rules next week.
