Super Junior’s Shindong to star on Lotte Duty Free and Amorepacific livestream

SOUTH KOREA. Pop superstar Shindong, who made his name as a member of the hugely popular Super Junior boy band, will appear on Lotte Duty Free’s ‘LDF Live’ broadcast tonight as front man for an Amorepacific brand exhibition.

The one-hour broadcast, to be hosted at 8p.m, will see a 20-strong range of the Korean cosmetics brand’s most popular products sold at “unprecedented” discounts.

Shindong made his name with Super Junior (known as as the ‘King of Hallyu’). He is a hugely popular rapper, singer, dancer, host, radio personality and video director.

The programme is geared towards shoppers who are preparing for overseas travel this summer. Various prizes will be on offer, including luxury necklaces and bracelets, and tickets on so-called ‘flights to nowhere’ or ‘non-landing flights’, which depart Korean airspace but do not touch down abroad.

Shindong and broadcaster Takuya will act as the main MCs, broadcasting from a newly created studio dedicated to live programmes at the Lotte Duty Free Myeong-dong flagship store in downtown Seoul.

While viewing, customers can enjoy duty free shopping from home through the Lotte Internet Duty Free Shop app.

The live broadcast features a range of Amorepacific’s most popular brands and lines

The live broadcast is themed ‘Amore Party Invited by Shindong and Takuya’. Brands on show include Hera, Laneige, Primera and Sienu. Specific cosmetics lines include Laneige Radian-C Cream, Hera Homme Basic Set of 3, and Black Holic Kit of 2.

During the live broadcast, a prize draw will be held to offer ten new signed-up customers with non-landing flight tickets. A further five will receive Natural Life Manuka Honey as a gift at LDF BUY, a health food direct-purchase mall operated by Lotte Duty Free Australia.

A Vivienne Westwood bracelet will be won by a viewer who is judged ‘communication king’ for comments made during the broadcast, even if he or she has not purchased.

Lotte Duty Free will also host a series of lucky draws for livestream viewers while a KRW6 million (US$4,650) Fred necklace will be on offer to a new or returning member.

A Lotte Duty Free spokesperson said, “We have been broadcasting live with celebrities since last April as part of the ‘Travel is Coming’ promotion to provide plentiful benefits to customers who are preparing for overseas travel. We plan to continue LDF LIVE focusing on in-demand brands and products.”
