RWANDA. Plus Max Duty Free has opened a duty free store in Kigali International Airport’s departures hall.
The company described the recently opened store as a “one-stop world-class experience shop that gives a new-age shopping experience while flying to and from Rwanda”.
Plus Max Duty Free (Rwanda) Limited, registered in Rwanda, is part of the Plus Max Group of companies, a sizable Malaysia enterprise (see below) that enjoys a fast-growing duty free business in India, Hong Kong, Dubai and Singapore
Kigali International Airport, formerly known as Gregoire Kayibanda International Airport (sometimes referred to as Kanombe International Airport), is the main airport serving Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. It is the country’s main airport.
The terminal, located at 1,491 metres above sea level, is one of the highest-sited in the world. A 3,500-metre runway allows landing of all types of aircraft and has driven the continuous increase of passenger traffic to around 800,00 passengers annually.
For the past two years Kigali International Airport has been ranked among Africa’s top ten airports based on customer service surveys.
