Images of the Day: (King) Powering up the gin offer in Phuket

Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature gin from New Zealand celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

THAILAND. Given this column is sponsored by a craft gin company, today’s lead images from the King Power Duty Free offer at Phuket International Airport are particularly appropriate.

They show a fantastic array of gins – I counted 41 – ranging from big international brands to a fascinating potpourri of craft expressions from all around the increasingly diverse gin-making world.

What a profound impact the gin revolution of recent years has had on the spirits mix of most duty free stores. And it’s good to see King Power Duty Free embracing that dynamic with such vigour.

Given Phuket’s popularity with New Zealand travellers and given Marlborough from where  Strange Nature originates is 42 degrees south, could we see a certain Kiwi gin swell the King Power gin offer to 42 in the future?
