SWITZERLAND. La Casa del Habano (LCDH) has opened in the AlpChalet Bellevue Hotel in Swiss Alpine village Samnaun, a duty free zone. The 40sq m walk-in humidor offers a range of duty free premium Cuban cigars, cigar accessories, spirits and more.
The Corporación Habanos franchise is owned by Salud Holding CEO Maurice van Vliet (whose company operates the Salud Duty Free store in Heligoland) and Kevin Woolf, who leads two LCDH franchises in the Caribbean.
The store’s cigar range features multiple Habanos brands including Partagas, Cohiba, Montecristo and Bolivar. Rare and limited cigars are available including regional editions and special Habanos releases.
Cigar accessories such as humidors, lighters, cutters and cigars cases from brands such as ST Dupont, Xikar, Colibri, Boveda, Fox and others are also available.
An opening event was staged on 20 January, hosting more than 100 Habanos cigar enthusiast guests.
Woolf and van Vliet were in attendance, alongside representatives from Intertabak, the exclusive Habanos distributor in Switzerland. They included Tony Hoevenaars (Managing Director), Alberto Donar (Commercial Director) and Francesco Andrianello (National Sales Manager).
LCDH Samnaun is integrated into the AlpChalet Bellevue Hotel with the LCDH Cigar Lounge on the ground level. The walk-in humidor is on the first floor, adjacent to the hotel reception.
AlpChalet Bellevue Hotel guests receive special LCDH discounts on all purchases in-store during their stay.
Van Vliet told The Moodie Davitt Report: “Habanos lovers and aficionados, not only from Switzerland, but nearby countries, will be able to see in LCDH Samnaun their opportunity for finding the ideal place for enjoy their passion for the Habanos.”
The new store is billed as the highest La Casa del Habano in the world, sitting at an elevation of 1,844m (6,050ft) above sea level. ✈
