GAP issues retail and F&B Request for Proposal at Los Cabos International Airport

MEXICO. Los Cabos International Airport (San José del Cabo International Airport/SJD) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for 12 retail and food & beverage spaces within the departure boarding lounge of its two terminals.

SJD is run by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), which also operates another 11 airports in Mexico and two in Jamaica.

San José del Cabo International Airport is the second-largest airport in Mexico in terms of touristic destinations, just behind Cancún International. In passenger traffic terms it is the sixth-busiest behind Mexico City, Cancún, Guadalajara, Tijuana and Monterrey International airports.

SJD’s Retail and F&B RFP includes 620sq m of commercial area. The domestic terminal is being remodelled with ten new units included in the RFP.

GAP said it expects the domestic terminal to have a new image and a wider retail and F&B offer by the conclusion of this bid. New options and brands will enhance passenger comfort and meet their expectations, it added.

The international terminal offers two retail locations in the departure lounge.

Sealed proposals must be received by the GAP commercial team at group headquarters by 16 May.

The units will be handed over to the awarded companies between Q2 and Q3 this year. The fixturing period for units is two months for retail and three months for F&B.

Los Cabos offers a wide variety of touristic activities, including golf, fishing, ironman contests and water sports.
