UK. Au Vodka has set a Guinness World Record with the world’s biggest vodka bottle, unveiled in partnership with World Duty Free (Avolta) at London Stansted Airport.
Renowned DJ and Au Vodka shareholder Charlie Sloth attended the launch on 24 May alongside Avolta representatives, GMAX Travel Retail Founder Garry Maxwell and Young Spirit Consulting Founder Tim Young. The Moodie Davitt Report was also on location for the event.
As reported, the 2.1 metre tall bottle holds 250 litres of Au Vodka Original. The golden bottle features the periodic table-inspired Au Vodka logo, and a tap at the bottom to ensure functionality.
The bottle will remain at Stansted until 24 June, available for purchase at a retail price of £150,000. Customers can also place their bids on the Au Vodka website.
“Our goal was to bring something different to the drinks market, a piece that goes beyond traditional advertising,” said Au Vodka Managing Director Charlie Morgan. “The world’s biggest bottle of vodka at Stansted isn’t just a display; it is a statement of our brand’s scale and our ambition to stand out in the global vodka market.”
Avolta Category Manager for Liquor UK Aisha Dad commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Au on this record-breaking feat. We will continue to work together with the brand to deliver unique and exciting in-store events to make customer journeys surprising and memorable.”
Stansted Airport Retail Director Stephen Martin remarked: “We’re really excited at London Stansted to have a great partnership with World Duty Free, who have linked up with a brilliant customer favourite, Au Vodka.
“This is a fun and impressive statement from Au Vodka and we’re proud of the success that they continue to experience at London Stansted.”
Au Vodka Sales Director UK & Ireland Tom Smith added: “This installation represents a milestone not just for Au Vodka but for the spirits industry as a whole.”
“Given the success of Au Vodka in the UK and notably the vast growth in the travel retail market, we wanted to push boundaries and create an experience that resonates with consumers on a global scale.”

A pop-up bar next to the bottle invites passengers to sample four Au expressions: Blue Raspberry, Pink Lemonade, Bubblegum and Strawberry Burst.
Sloth said: “Pink Lemonade is perfect for sipping on the beach or sitting in the park watching the sun go down, while Blue Raspberry hits the spot for partying. Bubblegum is for the day after as it is slightly sweeter than the rest.”
Au has attracted a strong following on social media backed by Sloth, who has over 3 million followers across his social channels. Au has become a big part of the UK urban music scene, now eyeing expansion across Europe and Asia Pacific.
Maxwell said: “Au Vodka is in the top ten in terms of overall sales within Avolta’s spirit brands. Currently we are in talks with the likes of Gebr. Heinemann and AirAsia for travel retail distribution.”
Young told The Moodie Davitt Report: “The founders [Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn] saw a gap in the market for ultra-premium vodka and the opportunity to target a younger demographic: 21- to 35-year-olds.
“It took the brand only five years to become the number one vodka brand in the UK.” As reported, its initial run of 2,000 bottles in 2015 had increased to 2.4 million by 2021.
Young added: “Au Vodka is now available at key UK airports, not just with Avolta but with Lagardère Travel Retail as well. We’re just about to go to India; we were in Singapore last week and got a lot of interest for Au there.”
Au Vodka recently exhibited at the Travel Retail Consortium ‘Open Hangar Doors’ event in Manchester and at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore from 12 to 16 May. ✈
