Writing instruments specialist Lamy has partnered with German retailer Tripidi to feature in two recently opened stores at Munich and Frankfurt airports.

The stores include Tripidi’s Youvenir concept – the “new go-to destination for high-class souvenirs” – with Lamy’s digital writing tools and coloured pencils highlighted through eye-catching shop-in-shop concepts.

Underlining its ‘Made in Germany’ status, Lamy said the brand’s popularity is reflected in its global customer base, with travel retail an important sales area.

“A long-standing collaboration with Tripidi, and the prominent placement of Lamy products in a shop-in-shop concept, have proved successful in bringing the many possibilities of Lamy’s thinking tools to an even wider global audience,” Lamy added.

According to the brand, the opening of the two stores at Munich and Frankfurt airports is “a further strategic step that takes the cooperation between Lamy and Tripidi to a new level”.

Tripidi Co-Founder and Managing Director Jennifer Noelle said: “The Lamy brand and its products are extremely popular with both domestic and international passengers. Lamy is one of our anchor brands and has a very special status within our company, our Tripidi stores and of course also in the Youvenir Store. This was made possible through the exceptional cooperation and partnership with Lamy.”

According to the partners, the two stores with their integrated Lamy shop-in-shops demonstrate that “significant space productivity can be achieved with special categories such as high-quality writing instruments”.

Karl Siegel, Regional Sales Director at Lamy, commented: “The first introduction of Lamy digital writing instruments and Lamy coloured pencils in the travel retail channel will further improve sales per square metre performance.

“Lamy’s influence in the global travel retail sector is set to grow even more in the future and the brand is looking to further collaborate with partners such as Tripidi, Lagardère Duty Free and Dufry [Avolta] to expand its successful shop-in-shop concept. The focus will be on Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.”

The Munich Airport Tripidi store offers the entire Lamy range – Young Writing, Modern Writing, Signature Writing and the new Digital Writing – in a 9sq m shop-in-shop which highlights the Lamy Safari and Lamy Al-star, along with highly pigmented Lamy 3plus and 4plus pencils. Leather accessories are also available.

At Frankfurt Airport, Tripidi’s Youvenir store highlights a range of Lamy products from the Young Writing, Modern Writing and Signature Writing categories. Visitors to the shop can also find a wide range of Lamy leather accessories, spare parts and supplies. ✈
