Bahrain Duty Free sets the gold standard as The Vault campaign proves a smash hit

BAHRAIN. Bahrain Duty Free is celebrating an “incredibly successful” promotional campaign called The Vault, which featured three safe vaults filled within artificial gold bars. The promotion ran from 27 March until 30 June at Bahrain International Airport.

The Vault campaign, hosted in a high-footfall area within the the airside departures hall, offered shoppers the chance to win prizes hidden inside the gold bars.

The retailer said the campaign reflected a mission to set the ‘gold standard’ for international travel retail.

For purchases starting from BHD60 (US$159.20), customers could participate in The Vault promotion, with rewards based on their spending bracket:

  • BHD60-359 (US$159-952): Access to Safe 1 offers customers a chance to retrieve a ball containing a gift prize or a -10% discount voucher.
  • BHD360-999 (US$955-2,650): Access to Safe 2 guaranteed a 15% discount, with the possibility of an additional surprise gift if a ball was retrieved.
  • BHD1,000 and above (US$2,655+): Access to Safe 3 offered unlimited turns, with a guaranteed prize and a -20% discount.

The promotional strategies led to a noticeable increase in sales during the campaign period, solidifying Bahrain Duty Free’s position as an industry leader in crafting engaging travel retail experiences, the company said. ✈️
