Coccinelle highlights Spring/Summer 2025 collection at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes

Italian leathergoods company Coccinelle is showcasing its Spring/Summer 2025 collection at the ongoing TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Riviera Village, RJ16).

The company is shining a spotlight on the new Coccinelle C-ME bag, designed to embody the essence of modern femininity.

Described as more than just an accessory, the bag features the brand’s signature C logo clasp, an evolution of the plectrum design.

The upcoming collections will focus on leather bags, representing 70% of the total share, with small leathergoods and mini bags accounting for 22% of total turnover, and shoes making up 5% of overall production.

Coccinelle Head of International Markets & Global Travel Retail Giada Cappelletti said: “Focusing on travel retail, 2024 will see new openings in Austria, Serbia, Bosnia, Romania, Kazakhstan and Kosovo. With our participation in TFWA World Exhibition and Conference in Cannes, we keep our connections with our historical customers and welcome new ones to support each other in expanding the current business.”

The company reported a strong first semester of the year highlighted by several openings and refurbishments in line with its strategy of coherence and consistency. It introduced an updated store concept showcasing two primary Coccinelle colours, Graceful Pink and Elegant Gold.

With the Asian market a key strategic focus, the company has expanded its regional presence with a new location in Chengdu and reopening of its boutique at Central World Mall in Bangkok in recent months.

Coccinelle’s international expansion strategy remains on track, marked by recent store openings in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Astana, Athens, Naples and Taormina. Further launches are scheduled for Bucharest and Vienna, along with several refurbishments in key cities by the end of the year.

Cappelletti said: “As already reported during the TFWA Asia Pacific Singapore edition held last May, travel retail has reported positive results facing a double-digit growth driven by traffic recovery and a stable increase in terms of turnover for comparable stores.”

As reported, Coccinelle has recently launched its Fall/Winter 2024 campaign, Capturing Beauty, starring supermodel Behati Prinsloo.

Shot in Milan, the campaign was led by the brand’s artistic directors Giampaolo Sgura and Anna dello Russo, focusing on the American cut shots, in vivid colours, to showcase the brand’s core values – nonconformity, simplicity and self-expression.

One of the campaign shots shows Prinsloo’s all-black looks and tattoos peeking out from the rolled-up sleeve of her denim shirt, described as the “perfect canvas” to highlight the three bags. These bags capture the essence of the Punk Academia theme – the central element of the Coccinelle collection. ✈
