SINGAPORE. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has partnered with German luxury brand MCM to open a boutique at Changi Airport Terminal 3.
This is the second luxury store operated by CDFG at Changi, underlining the company’s determination to develop its business at the Singaporean gateway. As reported, CDFG opened a Qeelin jewellery boutique in T1 this February.
CDFG said: “The MCM boutique, operated by CDFG, continues to harness MCM’s heritage of sophisticated rebellion to pioneer new expressions of luxury for a new generation of independently minded consumers.”
To celebrate the opening, a limited-edition commemorative pendant (pictured right), inspired by Singapore’s famed Merlion, will be launched in December.
“Going forward, CDFG will continue to advance its globalisation strategy and strengthen its operational strength in hub airports,” the Chinese travel retailer said.
“Through brand collaborations, CDFG will further enhance its competitiveness and create more market value in its international retail services.”
MCM is owned by Sungjoo Group, a South Korean retail business founded by renowned Korean businesswoman and entrepreneur Sung-Joo Kim.
MCM is currently distributed online and in over 650 stores worldwide, including locations in Munich, Berlin, Zurich, London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo and the Middle East. ✈
