UAE. Lagardère Travel Retail UAE has launched ROOTS, the first location for its new health-focused café concept at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.

“Inspired by Nordic design and a commitment to simplicity, vitality and sustainability, ROOTS offers a menu focused on fresh, honest ingredients,” Lagardère Travel Retail UAE noted.
The ROOTS staple food offer is a selection of artisan sandwiches and smørrebrød – open-faced bites blending Eastern and Western flavours for global appeal.

Signature smørrebrød options include the Spice Route, infused with sub-continental spices; the Early Riser, a modern interpretation of the classic egg, turkey ham and cheese; and Verdure, a vegetarian option with grilled Mediterranean vegetables.
The offer is complemented by a selection of sweet pastries and cookies featuring trending flavours such as pistachio, cardamom and ube, alongside a variety of wholesome breakfast pots.
ROOTS also serves a wide range of cold-pressed juices, nutrient-rich smoothies made with ingredients such as nuts, dates, whey protein, matcha and spirulina, as well as organic speciality coffee and tea.
Lagardère Travel Retail UAE CEO Vadim Motlik commented, “With ROOTS, we wanted to offer travellers at DXB a healthy, nourishing alternative to the traditional airport food experience. ROOTS offers a light, wholesome menu designed to energise and sustain travellers.
“The space itself is inspired by Scandinavian simplicity – featuring light woods, terracotta accents and inviting seating that caters to both relaxed dining and quick, on-the-go meals.
“Sustainability was a guiding principle from the start, reflected in choices like sourcing over 50% of our produce locally, using cage-free organic eggs and maintaining our commitment to 100% eco-friendly packaging.”
Dubai Airports Director of Commercial Operations John Rogers said, “At DXB, dining is considered an integral part of the travel experience. Every concept we introduce is thoughtfully selected to reflect the ever-evolving preferences and expectations of our diverse and global guest base.
“ROOTS brings a fresh, vibrant energy to our offering, aligned with a growing interest in food that feels nourishing, purposeful and well-crafted.”
