GREECE. WHSmith has opened its sixth store at Athens International Airport, in partnership with Miller Distributions Ltd.
The opening follows the announcement in October 2016 that WHSmith had been awarded a contract to operate a number of stores across the airport.

All of the stores offer a product range including newspapers, magazines and books, as well as confectionery, souvenirs, digital accessories and travel essentials.
The retailer said all the existing stores had undergone a complete refit and now feature a “premium, design-focused contemporary look, reflecting the recent refurbishment across the airport”.
WHSmith International Chairman Louis de Bourgoing commented: “We are delighted to continue with our store opening programme in Athens International Airport and to continue to build on the brand’s success internationally.
“The team has worked tirelessly to deliver the highest standards in design for these stores and is now focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience. We look forward to delivering a compelling offer to passengers travelling through the airport.”
Miller Distributors Ltd Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Miller said: “It is gratifying to see the final results of these refurbished new stores and the immediate pick-up in sales. We now look forward to a great summer season and, within the coming weeks, the opening of two further airside stores at Athens International Airport.”
The stores at the airport mark WHSmith’s entry into Greece.
