‘A gift for great encounters’ – Glenfiddich unveils limited-edition gift collection for Chinese New Year

The Glenfiddich Stag stands out in the striking, travel retail-exclusive packaging of Gran Reserva 21

William Grant & Sons-owned Glenfiddich has revealed a limited-edition Lunar New Year gifting collection, with the Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva and travel-retail exclusive expressions from the Perpetual range – the 15 Year Old VAT 03 and 18 Year Old VAT 04.

Set for release on 29 January, the collection features artwork by renowned ink artist Zhang Yu, celebrating two cultures and offering a recommended gift for the festive season.

The launch will be complemented by immersive activations at key airports, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Incheon and Melbourne from January until the end of February.

The promotional spaces will showcase the exclusive limited-edition gifts and bring to life the story of the Nine-Coloured Deer and the signature Glenfiddich stag emblem.

The limited-edition range represents Glenfiddich’s 17 years in China, where it brought one of the world’s leading Scotch whiskies to a discerning market.

The creative concept behind A Gift for Great Encounters (福鹿双至) is described as the blend of Western distilling traditions with Eastern sophistication. It was inspired by the union of the famed Glenfiddich stag emblem and the Nine-Coloured Deer, a mythical king symbolising wisdom, compassion and harmony.

To honour the New Year, Glenfiddich has collaborated with ink artist Zhang Yu, showcasing her masterpiece A Gift for Great Encounters on the 21 Year Old Gran Reserva and other travel retail-exclusive expressions

Zhang, whose art is deeply rooted in ancient Chinese narratives, brought this idea to life using a variety of creative forms such as painting, drawing, design and film.

She fused traditional Chinese ink wash painting with modern techniques and vibrant colours to depict the Glenfiddich Stag alongside the Dunhuang-inspired Nine-Coloured Deer.

Zhang’s work captured the essence of Chinese watercolour, using ink wash strokes to merge what is described as the two journeys of greatness for the first time.

To enhance their gifting appeal, Glenfiddich Perpetual 15 Year Old VAT 03 and 18 Year Old VAT 04 are offered in gift packs that include Glenfiddich and whisky-nosing glasses.

Glenfiddich Global Brand Managing Director Claudia Falcone said: “The Lunar New Year embodies togetherness and harmony. For the 2025 festive season, we aspire to celebrate the exquisite convergence of diverse traditions. A Gift for Great Encounters is a universal offering that delights in the beauty of this remarkable fusion.” ✈
