A landmark for UK airport luxury: New PremiAir terminal opens in Manchester

UK. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has commenced operations at a new standalone premium terminal named PremiAir which it says is offering a “private jet experience”. The revolutionary development is situated landside at the western edge of Manchester Airport’s main airfield.

The airport operator, which is also responsible for East Midlands and London Stansted airports, said that an initial 23 airlines have signed up to have their passengers access the new terminal. It offers packages ranging from £50-£175 (US$64.25-US$224.89) in addition to separate flight prices, giving guests access to luxury airport lounge facilities and food & beverage options.

The terminal is described by MAG as offering “design-led, modernist” lounges and an “indulgent” new option for departing and arriving at Manchester.

Airy, spacious lounge areas – designed to be flooded with natural light – have exposed wooden beams, modern furniture and open runway views

PremiAir will be operated entirely by an in-house specialist team, with MAG saying that passengers can expect “an extra level of convenience, comfort and style to their airport experience”.

Barista-style coffee and treats are among the offerings in all PremiAir packages

All PremiAir packages come with complimentary high speed wifi, refreshments and cuisine made fresh to order.

The PremiAir terminal also offers groups of 5-50 guests access to one of its three private suites. They are located before security, meaning non-travelling guests can also join group events and meetings. Guests can also use these suites as a lounge space for departure or arrival. Prices are available on enquiry and are bespoke, based on guests’ requirements.

The entrance foyer will welcome guests, who can pay for one of four main packages or arrange for the use of the terminal’s private suites

PremiAir General Manager Mart Louwerse said: “We are so excited to be open and to be able to show off what we have to offer here. PremiAir is a stunning, highly individual space, and you can’t experience anything like it elsewhere in aviation at such a competitive price point.

“We are also delighted to now have 23 airlines onboard and we hope to add to that list in the coming months, to give an ever bigger slice of Manchester Airport’s passengers the opportunity to sample the private jet experience at Manchester. Guests are welcome to use PremiAir, whether they’re travelling to a vital business meeting or as an extra special start to the holiday of a lifetime.”

PremiAir’s menu will change weekly but images of example cuisine have been revealed including Asian pork bao buns served in individual bamboo steamers (above) and fresh fruit tarts
